Launched in 2016, SNiP-it is a beloved pillar of the local community, committed to reducing the pet overpopulation in Central Florida as well as to control the feral cat population.  While this role is primarily mission-focused for the spay/neuter of dogs and cats, you also have the opportunity to perform other soft tissue surgeries as needed. 

This isn’t just any low cost clinic.  We are making a huge difference in our community and we are doing it together, as a collective at SNiP-it.  Overpopulation and overloaded shelters is a massive problem in Central Florida, and we are changing a lot of lives for the better – pets and humans included!  If you want to use your passion for underserved animals and your veterinary know-how for a log of good with a team that has each other’s backs, come on down and join us!

Overview of Veterinary Surgeon Role

Reporting to the Clinic Director, you’ll be responsible for working with the vet team to perform 30+ spay and neuter surgeries per day as well as other soft tissue surgeries, as needed.  There is also opportunity for this role to expand to include wellness visits. 

  • Time Commitment: 7:30am – 5:30pm, Tuesday – Friday (one Monday per month) NO WEEKENDS EVER!
  • Compensation: Competitive Salary

  • Location: Kissimmee, Florida
  • Status: This role is an Employee/W2 role.  You must be legally authorized to work as a W2 Employee in the United States. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform 30+ spay and neuter surgeries per day
  • Perform other soft tissue surgeries, as needed
  • S/N and General Surgery
  • Mentoring and developing Veterinary Students
  • Collaborating with Vet Techs and other veterinary staff
  • Occasionally engage with stakeholders to support our growth and mission

  • You have a soft spot for cute cats and dogs – especially underserved ones that will likely only ever see a vet when they visit you for their procedure
  • You are a licensed Vet – if you are not licensed in Florida, we can cover those costs
  • You have a DEA license or are willing to get one and we can help cover the cost
  • You are excited about the idea of working with the local population to create a long lasting impact
